In 2008, MIYDF held a National Indian Youth Forum attended by 73 NGOs in Malaysia. The highlight of the Forum was the conclusive findings made on the causes of high incidences of social ills amongst the Indian youth. The Forum was officiated by the then Minister of Youth and sports, Dato Sri Azalina Othman and the then Works Minister and MIC President, Dato Sri Samy Velu.
